Community School - Summer Junior Counselor - Summer 2025
REPORTS TO: Summer Camp Director/Section Leader
Dates of Camp: June 16 - August 8, 2025
QUALIFICATIONS:
- Prior experience as Summer Leader, Counselor-in-Training (CIT) and/or Junior Counselor
- Experience working with children
- Must be 16 years of age or have completed Sophomore year of High School
GENERAL DESCRIPTION:
Junior Camp Counselors will be responsible in assisting the camp director & section leader in the constant supervision of the campers, organizing, interacting and providing a fun environment. This position will also participate and assist in various activities such as arts & crafts, and the playing of indoor & outdoor games. Junior Counselors will attend all trips and ensure the group stays on schedule, all while maintaining their safety. Junior Counselors are to be positive role models and motivate campers to enthusiastically participate in all camp activities and events. Junior Counselors are expected to work a minimum of 4 camp weeks (consecutive or non-consecutive).
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:
- Monitor safety and security of group of students
- Assist leader with camp activities for designated group
- Attend all group camp trips
- Any additional tasks as assigned
- Attend paid staff orientation meeting & family meet & greet prior to start of camp
